What is GeneSight?

The GeneSight® Psychotropic test analyzes how your genes may affect your response to commonly prescribed mental health medications, such as antidepressants, mood stabilizers, and antipsychotics. The results help determine:​

• Which medications may result in the best outcomes for you

• Which may have an increased risk in unwanted side effects

• Whether certain medications may require dosage adjustments

How Does the Test Process Work?

• Step 1. A simple, in-clinic non-invasive cheek swab is collected

• Step 2. Your sample is sent to the GeneSight lab for analysis and results received by your provider

• Step 3. Your PNPC provider reviews the results with you at a scheduled follow-up visit (In-person/Telehealth)​

GeneSight is committed to making testing accessible and affordable:

• Many insurance plans, including Medicare, cover all or a significant portion of the cost of the test.

• Financial assistance may be available to help cover the cost for eligible patients.
